Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Neurobiome.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of neurobiome.org and its features (the "Service"), operated by Flore (formerly Sun Genomics), 51 W. Jackson St, Ste 105, Joliet, IL 60432, USA ("Neurobiome," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. What the Service is

Neurobiome is an educational and community resource about the gut–brain axis. It includes reading material, a gut-brain quiz, a self-directed "n-of-1" experiment tracker, community stories, and an optional paid membership ("Pro"). The Service is not a medical device, a healthcare provider, or a substitute for professional care. See our Medical Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.

3. Your account

We use passwordless email sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the stories, comments, experiment data, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant Neurobiome a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and — for content you choose to make public — reproduce and share it to operate and promote the Service. You represent that you have the right to share Your Content and that it does not violate these Terms or anyone's rights.

We may moderate, decline to publish, or remove content, and we may edit for length or clarity. We are a platform for personal experiences; we do not endorse and are not responsible for user content.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Post content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes others' rights;
Present unproven treatments as cures, give others medical advice, or impersonate a clinician;
Submit false, misleading, or others' personal/health information without permission;
Spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to breach the Service or its security;
Use the Service to develop a competing product from our content or data.

6. Pro membership, billing & cancellation

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. By subscribing you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for each billing period. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not prorated. We may change prices with advance notice for future billing periods.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, including our text, design, logos, and the "Neurobiome" name, is owned by Flore and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from our content except as expressly allowed.

8. Third-party links & services

The Service links to third-party sites and relies on third-party providers (for example Stripe, SendGrid, and Cloudflare). We are not responsible for third-party content or practices; your use of them is governed by their terms and policies.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information or experiment result is accurate or suitable for you. 10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neurobiome and Flore will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Neurobiome and Flore from claims and expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) will survive termination.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois for any dispute not subject to other agreed process.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
